When the industry-only, biannual Quilt Market (The fabric industry’s largest trade show) came to Portland, Fabric Depot wanted to find a way to bring the market to their customers who were unable to attend. Wanting to capitalize on having the largest names in the quilting world in town, we brought in 18 designers and hosted 23 events in a 6 day span.
To build hype, sell tickets, and make the event profitable I developed a multi-platform campaign three months before the event utilizing promotional posts to build anticipation and live event coverage to show off the quality of the events and establish Fabric Depot as a resource for the sewing community. A digital media packet was also shared with community influencers to encourage cross-promotion, expand reach, and engage guests.
Within minutes of the initial post, a buzz was already happening in the quilting community and within just 24 hours of the first post over 500 tickets had already been sold. The After Party made Fabric Depot the talk of Quilt Market and helped foster deeper relationships with leading industry influencers, creating new brand champions and inspiring organic brand posts to their large followings.
